You work really hard on creating killer content and it deserves everyone’s attention! Connected to over 16 social services including Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter and so much more! With this many options, you can customize Share to fit your visitor's favorite social platform. The more people that share your site and content - the more viral traffic goes back to your site.


Activate Share

In order to enable Share on your site, follow the steps below:

1 Hover over Extras at the top of your Sumo installation, and click Share.

2 Click Activate Now

3 Click the Layout option.

4 Ensure that a position has been selected. This will be indicated by a blue bar. By default the left of page position on desktop, and the bottom of page on mobile are selected.

5 That's it. Go check out your site, and you will see the Share bar in the position indicated in the Layout tab.


Customize your social services & settings

In order to configure which services display on your Share bar, follow the steps below:

1 Click the Settings tab.

2 Drag any of the available social services over to your Selected Services window to add it to Share. Re-order the services simply by click-and-dragging them in the order you prefer.

You will also notice the following configuration options within the tab:

1 Services

Here you can choose how many services should be displayed on your Share bar, and if you want them to be ordered according to the "Selected Services" order, or based on Sumo's Smart mode.

2 Shares Label

Here you can choose what you want to call your Shares on your bar, as well as the background color of the shares on the bar.

3 Buttons

Here you can choose the size, color, shape, and padding between your buttons.

4 Share Counts

Here you can choose to only show the Share count if a minimum amount of shares have been recorded, or whether to display individual service shares or total shares at all.

5 Mobile

Here you can choose when to display your mobile Share bar, as well as if you want the Share bar to display only while scrolling.

Select your Share bar placement locations

In order to configure where you Share bar displays on your site, check out the steps below:

1 Click the Layout option within Share.

2 Choose the placement of your Desktop Share bar.

Note: Selecting the furthermost left, right, and bottom positions will set the Share bar to display relative to the page. Selecting another position will set the bar to display relative to the articles Sumo detects on your site.

3 Choose the placement of your Mobile Share bar.

Pro tip: With Share Pro , you can override the global settings and have specific, per-position settings for each share placement.

4 After you’re satisfied selecting all the locations, you can test your site using your device(s) or in a new browser window, preferably Google Chrome in incognito mode.


Control your Share Bar Display Rules

In order to configure which pages you Share bar displays on your site, you will need to configure Display Rules. In order to do this, follow the steps below:

1 Click the Display Rules tab.

2 Click Add New Rule.

3 Specify the type of Display Rule you would like to create. You can find more about our Display Rules here.

4 After you’re satisfied with your Display Rules, you can test your site using your device(s) or in new browser window, preferably Google Chrome in incognito mode.


Connect Share To Facebook

By default, Facebook only allows Sumo to pull the consolidated Facebook numbers for your site's URL (Shares and Likes combined). Once you connect to your Facebook account within the Share app, Facebook allows Sumo to pull the Facebook likes and shares separately.

In order to connect to Facebook follow the steps below:

1 Click the Services tab within Share.

2 Click Connect button, then enter your Facebook credentials.
