How Do I Setup A Content Upgrade?

This article covers Content Upgrades: what they are and the various ways you can implement them in List Builder.


What are Content Upgrades?

Content Upgrades refer to any downloadable content you wish to provide to your visitors. You are not limited by file type and are only limited by the size of the file. We have a limit of 100 MB per file.

Here are the three ways that you can implement Content Upgrades in your Form:

1 Click Actions: This option is available in the Design tab in List Builder. You can set up a Content Upgrade Click Action by either clicking on one of the following elements, or adding them to your Form template from the Add New dropdown menu at the top:

2 Automatic Email Responder: This option is available in the Success tab in List Builder. You can add a link in the body of your emails that your subscribers can click on to download the Content Upgrade. We even created a pre-made template specifically for Content Upgrades, but feel free to create your own!

3 Subscribe Success Redirect: This option is available in the Success tab in List Builder. So long as you have the Click Action for your Form set as Submit Form, you can have your new subscriber redirected to download your chosen Content Upgrade.

Click Actions

1 In the List Builder App, open the Form you want to work on (or create a new one) and go to the Designtab.

2 Select the element on your Form to which you want to add the Click Action, or, select Add New from the options above your Form in the editor if you want to add an element not currently available on your current Form template.

3 Select Download Content Upgrade from the dropdown menu underneath the Click Action section.

4 Click on the Select Content Upgrade button.

5 In the Select A File dialog box, select Upload Your Content Upgrade to add the file you want to use as your Content Upgrade, then click on the Select button.

Warning: When changing the Submit Form action to Download Content Upgrade, email addresses will not be collected, so the email collection field should be removed. If you wish to collect emails in your form, we recommend using one of the other two methods described in this article.


Automatic Email Responder

1 In the List Builder App, open the Form you want to work on (or create a new one) and go to the Successtab.

2 Under the Automatic Email Responder section, you can select from the dropdown menu next to Add New Email and select Content Upgrade Template to work with a template specifically made for this.

3 Edit the language of the template to your liking.

4 Select the Insert Content Upgrade button.

5 In the Select A File dialog box, select Upload Your Content Upgrade to add the file you want to use as your Content Upgrade, then click on the Select button.

6 Edit the text created to whatever you want your Content Upgrade link to read.

7 Make sure you select the Save Email button!


Subscribe Success Redirect

1 In the List Builder App, open the Form you want to work on (or create a new one) and go to the Design tab.

2 Select the submit button in your Form and then make sure that Submit Form option is selected in the Click Action dropdown menu.

3 Now go to the Success tab.

4 Under the Subscribe Success Redirect section, select the Download Content Upgrade tab, then click on the Select Content Upgrade button.

5 In the Select A File dialog box, select the Upload Your Content Upgrade button, then select the file you want to use as your Content Upgrade.

6 Select the file you just uploaded, then click on the Select button.
