Turn new subscribers into first-time buyers! Set up Discount Codes so anyone who signs up through a BDOW! campaign form gets an instant reason to shop, whether you're automatically importing codes from WooCommerce or Shopify, or creating your own from scratch.
In your BDOW! site manager, navigate to Monetize > Discounts to get started.
Note: The Shopify app is currently unavailable. A new Shopify app experience is coming soon!
Integrating with your store
If your site runs on WooCommerce or Shopify, BDOW! can connect directly to your store and generate Discount Codes for you automatically, no manual entry needed. Plus the integration will share redemption information with BDOW!, so you will gain more insights on the performance of your discount campaign.
Pick your platform below and follow the steps to get set up.
Once you've established the connection, come back here to continue creating the Discount Campaign.
Generating codes from scratch
If your store is built on a different platform or you don't want to use an integration to generate codes, skip ahead to the next section. Without an integration, usage data lives in your store and BDOW! is only used to issue the codes, so the configuration is simpler.
Setting up a Discount Code campaign
Every Discount Campaign comes down to a batch of codes: either a set number of unique codes, or a single reusable code your subscribers can all share. The availability of additional campaign options depends on whether you've directly integrated with WooCommerce or Shopify.
Working with integrated campaigns
Click on the Create Discounts button to choose the details of your Discount Campaign. Select a name and Discount type:
Percentage. Reduces the order total by the specified percentage
Fixed Amount. Reduces the order total by the specified amount
Free Shipping. Waives the shipping fee on the order
You can also set an Expiration Mode if you need the Discount Campaign to end on a specific date or after a certain amount of time.
When you're finished filling out all of the details, click the Confirm button and your Discount Campaign will be ready for use.
If you have not integrated with a store
If you are not connected to WooCommerce or Shopify, you can generate a set of codes that can be issued to your customers via BDOW! campaign forms and emails. You will also need to create the codes in your store, while BDOW! ensures that each discount code is uniquely distributed to an individual subscriber.

Assigning discount campaigns to forms
The next step after creating a Discount Campaign is to assign it to one of your BDOW! campaign forms.
Open (or create) a form and navigate to the Success message (which is shown after a visitor subscribes via the form).
Click Add New > Discount Code.
Select the button and click Assign Discount.
Finally, choose the desired Discount Campaign and click Select.
That's it! You should see the name of the Discount Campaign below the Assign Discount button. You can always re-click it and assign a different discount, too. From here, you can continue to edit the look and feel of the popup, including the way the code will appear. Remember to publish!
Sending Discount Codes through Autoresponder Emails
You can also send an automatic email with your Discount Code after visitors subscribe (see this article for more about Autoresponder emails).
On the Success tab of the designer, add or edit an email response.
In your Autoresponder Email, click on the Insert Discount Code button
If you have already selected a discount code for the Success design of your popup, the responder will use the same code to ensure consistency.
If you have not selected a discount code, you will have the opportunity to assign a Discount Campaign.
The code will replace the
{discount}text. As with the popup, you can edit its appearance it to match the look and feel of the message.
Now save it, and your Autoresponder emails will send out the Discount Code issued to each subscriber!
Pushing Discount Codes as a Hidden Field
Want to send each subscriber's discount code to your Email Service Provider when they subscribe? No problem.
Before you begin, make sure that you have a discount code campaign assigned to the form (see the section above).
Click the Hidden Fields button in the form designer:
Create a new variable with a
{discount_code}value and click Save. This is a built-in value, so just use the{}button.
Any hidden fields will be pushed to your email service provider along with the visible campaign form fields, so the subscriber's discount code will be included, too.
Variable Name. This is how the discount code field will be labeled for your ESP.
Variable Value. The
{discount_code}will be set to the actual code issued to the subscriber.
Remember that this will only work if you have a discount code campaign assigned to the form!
Exporting Discount Codes
If you wish to create an export of your Discount Campaign codes, navigate to Monetize > Discounts tab. Use the checkboxes to select the desired campaigns and the Export Selected button will appear.
Clicking the button will download a CSV file containing the selected Discount Campaigns.
