Using our ActiveCampaign integration, you can push BDOW! subscribers to your ActiveCampaign Forms, Mailing Lists, and Automations. You can even add a tag to Subscribers!

Connecting to ActiveCampaign in BDOW!

  1. Log into the BDOW! site manager and open the site you would like to connect to ActiveCampaign.

  2. Hover over the profile icon and select Settings.

  3. On the Settings page, navigate to the Integrations tab.

  4. Click on the ActiveCampaign integration (use the Search field to filter down, if needed).

  5. Add your API URL and API Key. You will need to obtain these from your ActiveCampaign account (see ActiveCampaign's help article to learn where to find them).

  6. Click Connect! If the connection is established, you should be able to see configuration options from your ActiveCampaign account.

  7. Select the appropriate ActiveCampaign items where you would like to push your BDOW! subscribers.

What if I need to push to different lists?

You can configure the ActiveCampaign integration at the campaign form, too! Edit a form, and go to the Connect to Email Service area. Select your ActiveCampaign integration, and you can toggle Override Global Settings.

Setting up fields in ActiveCampaign

The next step is configuring mappings for your BDOW! input fields in the Fields section in the ActiveCampaign Management Dashboard. The mapping is necessary to properly push your subscriber data.

It is important to configure mappings for all of the fields in your BDOW! campaign form, including hidden fields. If ActiveCampaign does not know how to parse a field, it could flag the entire submission as an error and prevent the contact from being created!

On the ActiveCampaign side, you will use Personalization Tags to establish the field mappings. There are some standard Personalization Tags in ActiveCampaign that already correspond to built-in BDOW! input fields:

BDOW! Variable Name

Active Campaign Personalization Tag

email

%EMAIL%

phone

%PHONE%

However, you will likely need to pass along data unique to your business! You will create Custom Fields on the ActiveCampaign side to receive the field values. The key is to ensure that the Personalization Tag matches the BDOW! variable name. If you notice that new contacts arrive in BDOW! but not in ActiveCampaign, this is the first item to check!

The case does not matter; you'll notice it is lowercase on the BDOW! side (fav_color), but you will use uppercase on the ActiveCampaign side (%FAV_COLOR%).

Also, do not forget to check your hidden fields. These BDOW! fields also have a variable name which will need a corresponding Field in ActiveCampaign:
