What Can Forms Do?
BDOW! forms are built to help you reach specific goals. Here are the most common use cases:
📬 Collect Emails — Want to grow your list? Use a form to collect email addresses (and other details if you like) so you can follow up with visitors later.
💬 Add a Call to Action — Need to point people somewhere? Add a strong button that sends them to your sales page, booking link, or anywhere else you want traffic.
📱 Get Social Shares — Trying to get more buzz? Encourage visitors to share your site on X (Twitter), Facebook, or Pinterest to help spread the word.
🛠️ Use Custom Code — Already have your own form? No problem — you can drop in custom HTML to collect info exactly how you want.
👥 Show Social Proof — Want visitors to see the action happening on your site? Highlight signups or activity to build trust and nudge others to do the same.
You can start with a clear goal and then choose the form type you would like to use for your message.
In order to access this, click Campaigns > Create New Campaign in the navigation of your BDOW! Site Manager.
Form Types You Can Build
BDOW! supports a wide variety of form styles for different goals:
Popups — Grab attention without interrupting flow
Embeds — Seamlessly fit forms into your page layout
Sticky bars — Persistent top/bottom banners for promotions
Full-page takeovers — Drive action with high-visibility
Exit-intent popups — Capture attention before users leave
All forms are mobile-friendly and fully customizable.
Managing Your Forms
Once your forms are up and running, you’ll see them listed in your Forms Dashboard. Here’s what each action lets you do:
Pause Form — Need to take a form down for a bit? Use Pause Form to stop it from showing on your site.
Resume Form — Want to bring a form back live? Click Resume Form to start showing it again.
Rename — Give your form a quick name change to keep things tidy or easier to track.
Clone Form — Make a copy of your form — perfect if you want to test out small changes without starting from scratch.
Create Test — Spin up a new version of your form to run an A/B test and see what works best.
Download CSV — Grab a spreadsheet with all the emails and info collected from that form — great for importing into other tools.
Export — Send your data out to another system or platform you’re connected with.
Delete — Remove the form completely. Just a heads up: this can’t be undone!
You can also use a the dropdown menu to filter campaigns based on form type (Popup, Smart Bar, Click Trigger, Social Proof, Inline Popup, Scroll Box, Welcome Mat) or current status (Active, Paused, Deleted, Variants).
Looking for a specific form you created? At the top, use the Search Bar to locate campaigns you have already created.
🎨 Easy Design Controls
You can control every part of your form’s look and feel — no design team needed. On a Premium Plan, you can choose from over 50 design templates to kick-off your inspiration. You also have the opportunity to save your own templates, share one, or import a design.
Choose fonts, colors, layout, and button styles, size, and animation
Add custom images, logos, and branding
Rearrange blocks or add custom ones
Optional light/dark themes
✏️ Want to go further? You can also add custom HTML, CSS, or JavaScript.
💡Did you say animation?
For Popups and Click Triggers Popups, you have the option to add an animation while those Form Types load on the page. We have 16 different animations to choose from, so feel free to play around with each and see which fits best.
📑 Add a Tab to Your Form (Optional but Awesome!)
Want to give your visitors a gentle nudge without being too pushy? You can include a tab that sticks to the edge of your page and invites them to open the form when they’re ready.
Tabs are great for re-engaging visitors who may have closed the form — or for offering a more subtle way to trigger it in the first place.
Here’s how to set one up:
1. Turn on the Tab
In the Form Editor, go to the Design tab, scroll to the bottom of Templates section, and toggle on the Include a Tab option.
2. Click the Tab to Customize
Once it’s on, you’ll see a preview of the tab appear in the right-hand pane above your form. Click the tab to start editing it.
3. Customize the Look and Feel
In the left-hand pane, you’ll now see all your tab settings — including:
When it appears (before the form shows, or after it’s closed)
Where it lives (corners, top, or side of your page)
Shape, size, and color
Text or icon displayed on the tab
Tabs are a smart way to keep your form visible without interrupting your visitor's flow — and they work great on both desktop and mobile.
🕵️♀️ Hidden Fields
Hidden fields let you collect information from your visitors without displaying those fields in the form. You can set:
Variable Name – what you want to call the field
Variable Value – the value you're capturing
Sync with email? – whether it attaches to the subscriber’s email
Here are some of the built-in Variable Values you can use:
Variable Name | What It Collects |
Subscriber’s IP address
(Legacy Forms only) Name of the campaign that collected the submission
(Legacy Forms only) Campaign name, but formatted for URLs (no spaces/special chars)
Country of the subscriber (based on IP geolocation)
Date the user subscribed (UTC)

🧠 Visibility & Smart Display Rules
You have two options. One option is to "Enable Smart Mode" and let the form do its thing.
Option two would be to exercise your ability to control exactly when and how your forms appear.
✨ Visibility Settings for Each Form Type
I. Popup Form Visibility
Under the Visibility tab, in the When section, you can control when your Popup Form appears to your visitors:
🕒 Timed
Choose how many seconds after a page loads the Popup Form should appear. You can also decide:
Whether it should always display
Or only show if a certain amount of time has passed since the user last saw a popup
🧭 User Leaves (Exit Intent)
Trigger the Popup Form when a user moves their cursor toward closing the browser or leaving the page.
Just like with the Timed option, you can choose to:
Always show the Popup
Or only display it if a certain amount of time has passed since the last popup was shown
Use the visibility timing options above to reduce popup fatigue and target your visitors at the right moment.
II. Scroll Box Visibility
Scroll Boxes have three main display controls.
Scroll Trigger
Set the percentage of the page a user must scroll before the Scroll Box appears (e.g. 30%).Stick To Corner
Choose which corner of the screen the Scroll Box will appear in: top right, bottom left, etc.Slide-In Direction
Select which side the Scroll Box should slide in from—either vertical or horizontal, based on your chosen corner.
Example: If it's in the bottom right corner, it can slide in from the bottom or from the right.
In the When section, you can also control how often the same visitor sees the Scroll Box:
Only after a certain time has passed
Or always, regardless of past interactions
III. Inline Form Visibility
Inline Forms can be embedded in two ways.
Manual Embed
Copy the embed code provided and paste it into your website’s HTML wherever you'd like the form to appear.Auto-Embed
Toggle this on if you want the system to automatically insert the form on your page. Here you can also set a page scroll percentage to determine how far down the page the form should appear.
IV. Click Trigger Visibility
Click Triggers display your Form when a visitor clicks on a specific element on your site (like a button, link, or image).
Once created:
You’ll be provided with a snippet of code
Add this code to the HTML of the element you want to act as the trigger
You can add multiple Click Triggers to one Form if needed.
V. Welcome Mat Visibility
Welcome Mats offer several advanced visibility and display settings.
Timing Options (When Section)
Choose how often the Welcome Mat appears to a returning visitor
Or allow it to display every time
Behavior Controls (How Section)
Prevent Scrolling while the Welcome Mat is visible, to keep the focus on your message
🎭 Display Mode Options
Normal
Displays as a fullscreen takeover regardless of user scroll.Embedded
Allows you to embed the Welcome Mat in a specific spot on the page by placing this code:<span class="sumome-welcomemat-anchor"></span>
Note: For best visibility, place it just below the fold of your site.
Parallax
The Welcome Mat scrolls upward slowly as the user scrolls down the page.
It gives a subtle and smooth reveal effect.
⚠️ Important: For Embedded and Parallax, the Welcome Mat will always appear below the fold.
VI. Smart Bar Visibility
Smart Bars are banners that can stick to the top or bottom of your page. Here are the main behavior settings:
Sticky vs Static
Sticky: The Smart Bar follows the user as they scroll.
Static: It stays fixed in one spot, no matter how far they scroll.
Smart Behavior
The Smart Bar will hide while scrolling down, and reappear when the user scrolls up. *Great for a clean browsing experience.
You can also choose the placement: top or bottom of the page.
VII. Display Rules (All Form Types)
The Display Rules section lets you fine-tune when and where your Form appears.
Add conditions for specific pages, devices, UTM parameters, referring URLs, and more.
Save and reuse rule sets for different Forms or campaigns.

Advanced Settings
These extra options give you more control over how and when your form displays. You’ll find them in the Visibility tab, under the Advanced Settings section of your form editor.
Here’s what each toggle does:
Show to Users Who’ve Already Subscribed
By default, BDOW! hides your form from people who’ve already signed up — but if you want it to keep showing (for example, for a different CTA), you can toggle this on.
Hide From Users Who Opted Out
If a visitor clicked a button with an “Opt Out” action, BDOW! sets a cookie to stop showing them the form. This option keeps that behavior in place.
You can turn it off if you want the form to display again after a set time or for testing.
Yield Tech
If you have multiple forms running on the same site, Yield Tech makes sure only one form appears per page load — so your visitors don’t get overwhelmed.
You can turn this off if you’re managing Display Rules very precisely and want multiple forms to run.
Subscriber Notifications
Want a heads-up when someone subscribes? Toggle this on to get alerts inside your BDOW! Notification Center.
You can find your notifications at the top right of your BDOW! dashboard (🔔 icon).
Success
This tab allows you to set up any additional events that should happen after a visitor successfully subscribes to your email list.
Automatic Email Responder
This feature allows you to send an email to a visitor after they successfully subscribe.
Add New Email: selecting this button will take you to an editor where you can design an email that you would like your subscribers to receive. The dropdown menu next to Add New Email offers the following ready-made template options:
Content Upgrade Template: this template allows you to send your new subscriber a Content Upgrade.
Coupon Code Template: this template allows you to send your new subscriber a Coupon Code.
Welcome Template: this is the default template with a general welcome message for your new subscriber.
Subscribe Success Redirect:
Use this setting to decide which event you want to happen after the user successfully subscribes:
Download Content Upgrade: use this option to allow the user to download content of your choosing.
Redirect URL: use this option to redirect the user to a specific URL.
Receive Success Email
After a successful email subscribe, receive an email notification to your inbox.

Configure what to do after a user subscribe.
Add Subscribers To Group: use this feature if you wish to send subscribers to a specific group created in BDOW!
Auto Close Timer: after a user subscribes, automatically close the popup after a certain amount of time.

6. Connect to Email Service
You can hook your Form to a wide variety ESPs. Most of them are available on the Free plan, but some advanced ones require a Pro subscription.
A bit more about connecting integrations here.
Webhooks
Webhooks allow you to receive notifications of BDOW! events via HTTP callbacks and are a great way to support integrations with custom applications. A site on the Plus plan can set up a webhook, and then BDOW! will deliver data to your server every time you capture a new contact!

Small changes can lead to big results. BDOW! is designed for experimentation:
Duplicate any form in one click

The Tests Dashboard is the second section in Campaigns in the BDOW! Site Manager. This is where the creation as well as the management of your tests take place.
At the top is a Search Bar that you can use to look for specific Tests you have already created.
If you have no pre-existing Tests on the dashboard, you can see a link at the top that says "Create New Test" This takes you to another screen that prompts you to select a Form to create a Test from, and after that you are taken to the Forms Editor to work on the new Variant for your A/B Testing.
Next to each Variant, you can see the following options:
Use This : Select this to declare a winner from your testing. Note that once you do this, any other Variants for this test become unavailable.
Edit : Select this to enter the Forms Editor and make additional changes to the Variant. Next to the Edit button of each original Form Variant within a test is a dropdown menu that offers the following options:
Rename: Choose this to change the name of the Variant.
Clone Variant: Choose this to make a duplicate of the Variant for your to work off of in the Forms Editor.
Delete Test: Choose this option to delete the entire test.
Below each test are the buttons Add New Variation and View Stats Graph:
Add New Variation takes you to Campaigns to create a new form.
View Stats Graph reveals the Stats Graph for the test.
Note: If your original Form Type that you based your testing on is a Popup, a Scroll Box, or a Smart Bar, you can change your other Variants' From Types to any one of those three options. However, if your original Form Type was an Inline Form or a Click Trigger, then you cannot change the Form Type of your subsequent Variants in your testing.
